Not to stay--but because it's very hard to be both an employee of a startup, while also bootstrapping your own startup. BigCo + bootstrapping seems much simpler. But as far as I'm aware, from most BigCos' perspectives, I'm unemployable; autodidact [no CS degree] + living in Canada. So, I guess it's back to looking for a job at another startup while trying to eek out time on my own...

I work at a large corporation that does not particularly care about international borders, and I have no degree. It can be done.
