Probably the poster defines a word as a buzzword if you don’t know why the underlying concept the word represents is of importance or relevance. And there is a lot of jargon and abstraction here. Without a “basic mathematical sophistication” = Bachelors in Pure Math, it would sound like abstract babble. Even with a Basic Mathematical Sophistication (BMS, I’m claiming the acronym), it’s pretty far out there. Fair enough.
